Privacy Policy

This site is a free secret santa generator. It works without accounts and without collecting email addresses. This policy explains exactly what is stored when you run a draw, which cookies can be set, and how to get data removed.

What we store when you run a draw

When an organizer creates a draw, we store the group name if given, an optional budget and exchange date, the participant names, the random assignment, one unguessable private link per player, and any wishlist text players type. This data exists so players can reopen their match during the season and so the organizer can recover lost links.

We do not store email addresses, account profiles, passwords, or payment details, because the site has none of those. There is no login and nothing to sign up for.

Private links and who can see a draw

Each player link contains a long random token. Anyone holding the full link can see that player's match, so share links only with the person they belong to. The organizer link can see all player links and open statuses, but never the assignments themselves. Pages under /d/ are blocked from search engines.

Deleting a draw

Write to the contact address below with the organizer link or the draw ID and we will delete the draw and every link and wishlist attached to it. Requests are usually handled within a few days. Seasonal cleanup also removes old draws after the holidays.

Cookies, advertising and statistics

The site can set the following:

• Advertising cookies. We use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings and review practices in the Google Advertising Policy.
• Anonymous statistics. We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites.
• Preference cookies. A language-preference cookie and an optional cookie-consent cookie may be set to remember your choices.

Affiliate links

Some pages, such as the gift ideas guide, contain links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you follow these links, Amazon's own privacy policy applies to what happens next.

Children

The generator is not directed at children under 13. Classrooms are welcome to use it with a teacher organizing the draw.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be noted here before they take effect.
