How the secret santa generator works

Paste your names, press one button, and the generator assigns every player a person to buy for. Each participant opens a private link that reveals only their own match, so the organizer can play along too. Nothing gets emailed and nobody registers an account, so the whole draw takes about half a minute.

    Add a budget or an exchange date if you want them shown. To stop couples from drawing each other, list the pairs in the exclusions box, one per line.

Exclusions

Keep couples apart with exclusions

Any pair listed in the exclusions box will never draw each other. Write one pair per line, like Anna - Ben, and the draw treats them as off limits in both directions. Everything else stays random, so nobody can work out who has whom by elimination.

With only three players the math can force unwanted pairs, so exclusions work best from four people up.

Each private link has a wishlist box. Players write what they would genuinely like, and the person buying for them sees it the moment they open their match. Secret santa generator FAQ

Is this secret santa generator really free?

Yes. The tool is free, there is no paid tier, and you can run as many draws as you like. The site is supported by ads and affiliate links, which never change how the generator works.

Do participants need an email address?

No. The draw produces one private link per player, and you share those links yourself over WhatsApp, Slack, SMS, or email if you insist. Nothing is sent from our servers to your group.

Can I stop couples from drawing each other?

Yes. In the optional settings, list pairs in the exclusions box, one pair per line, like Anna - Ben. The draw never assigns those two to each other, in either direction.

Can the organizer see who drew whom?

No. The organizer page shows who has opened their link, but never the assignments. The only way to see a match is that player's private link, so the organizer can take part in the draw too.

What if someone loses their link?

Open your organizer link. It lists every private link again, and you can copy any of them back into the chat. Links stay valid all season, so a lost message is never a lost draw.

How many people can join one draw?

Anywhere from 3 to 100. A large family draw works the same way as an office of five; exclusions only change who is allowed to draw whom.
